About MaineFramed

Each piece is inspired by years of living here and designed to feel both new and familiar, like a classic travel poster reimagined for today.

The aim is simple: honor the quiet power of this place and the pride of those who call it home with clean lines and a palette pulled from pine, granite, surf, and sky.

Vintage-inspired and modern in form, the designs celebrate the granite peaks and deep woods, bold ocean headlands and quiet coves, island ferries, working harbors, lakes at dawn, and winter light on village streets.

About the Artist - Mike Tierney

Born in Washington D.C. and raised in Northern Virginia, I moved to Maine in 2017, first to Camden and now Rockport. Between my day job and family life (three kids: Ryan, Jack, and Emma), I learned Adobe Illustrator and began designing prints of the places we love.

From 2019–2021, I built the series for the walls of our own home. When my wife Sarah hung a few at her dental office (PenBay Dental), staff and patients began asking how they could purchase them—supportive words that encouraged me to share the work more widely.

I’m not a full-time or trained artist; these designs are a personal passion project. My professional background is in U.S. military and intelligence investments in space capabilities. I went to law school and worked in the U.S. House of Representatives as a Military Legislative Assistant before entering the private sector 15 years ago.

Thank you for welcoming these pieces into your home and hearts.
